Inspiration

This website was built upon the topic of Happiness and World Data to analyze the global well-being factors in the world and determine how economic, global, health, and demographic factors all play a part into happiness. Potential users for the website include government officials looking to analyze their own country or others, people looking to move to another country which are seeking out which country is best for their well-being, and analysts looking to profile countries and analyze such well-being factors.

The data sources were from Kaggle and are linked below. The first dataset provides information on happiness scores...

Takeaways

The most challenging part of the project was definitely dealing with the ISO codes and regions because the names didn't match and because we had 2 different data sets. Attempting to programatically add it with Gapminder and provided JSON file from course instructor but it didn't give the best results. We manually added the ISO codes and regions allowing for more effctively appear on the map visualizations.

The most rewarding part being able to combined 2 completely unrelated datasets into a meaningful information source.
